The Problem
There are a lot of outdoor school programs that exist/programs that try to connect youth to the natural world, but they are not state-licensed. As a result, these programs do not have access to state grants like ECEAP/Head Start to make their accessible/equitable to children from all backgrounds, aren’t able to expand past four hours/day, lack connections with/support from with community partners, and do not influence mainstream parent/educator perspectives on the efficacy of outdoor education.
