The Problem
To help students understand that sustainability is a way of life, not just a buzz word. They will look at their community in a new way and look for and make changes that will help their community become more sustainable.
Our Plan
We will extend the high school recycling program into the community. We will begin with curbside recycling at our school. The students will use the roots and shoots program material to identify the areas that need to be made aware of the recycling program. The students will design an advertising campaign to get the word out to their community that all recycling can be brought to our school. The students will also use their information gathering and research to identify another issue that they can help change for future sustainable projects. This program will continue each semester.
