The Problem

How can we build positive school culture and transform the perception of H.L. Trigg Community (Alternative) school by addressing the issues faced by students and the larger community over food insecurity?

Our Plan

The project group (students and staff) takes action to address school activism: beautify and ownership of the school facility; increase access and interest in varying varieties of fresh produce addressing nutrition and food insecurity in high-poverty and minority communities; entrepreneurship for students to share and learn positive ways to connect school learning and generate income; and most importantly giving back through the project's Spread Gardening Teach One initiative.
