The Problem

What this project wishes to do is to educate the larger student body on the importance of taking care of the environment. In doing so, they will change the school culture in a way that supports a sustainable, environmentally friendly campus.

Our Plan

This project involves an educational campaign focused on our school. It is designed to educate the middle school population on native plants, what they require, and why they are beneficial to our environment. The members of the Forces of Nature ECO CLUB will go to the morning advisory classes over a two-week period to educate each class about native plants. They will discuss mulch, grass, native plants, watersheds, and water conservation. They would ask peers questions and based on their answers, raise student awareness. Students will become "instant experts." After the advisory sessions, poetry posters will be placed around campus at various locations so that students can see them throughout their school day.
