The Problem

We are building a native plant garden at the back of our school! The plants have been chosen specifically based off of the native American tribe, the Kumeyaay. The plants will have a variety of uses. We'll be able to create art; by weaving baskets and making dyes, make different foods and drink, and overall learn about the way the plants thrive. We have tons of ideas for the garden to make it an impactful addition to our school. It's a great way to get more in touch with nature and the learn about creating a more sustainable and simplistic way of life.

Our Plan

Our hopes are to pick out a variety of different native plants that have certain "roles". We will be able to weave baskets, create paints, make teas, medicines, foods, and much more. Our main goal is to create a safe, calming space, while learning about the natural world.
