The Problem
My wish for this project is to use milkweed in a community garden to help the monarch population. Also to help the students with leadership skills and thinking out of the box.
Our Plan
I will create a garden using milkweed and other native, indigenous plants to help the monarchs. Milkweed is the only plant that they can lay their eggs on and by using that plant I can encourage them to come here and create a safe spot for them. I will create the garden at my local elementary school with a group of fifth graders. They are in a class were they have to create a project and I will be there to help mentor them.
