The Problem

In NYC, we have an outdated sewage systems and struggle with water management. The students are finding ways to better manage water through agricultural processes build on the concepts of aqua culture, irrigation systems, and farming. Hydroponics and aquaponics use 80% less water than other farming methods.

Our Plan

After the Engineering Club students have completely built their aquaponic and hydroponic systems, they will share them with Ms. Crupi's STEM classes. STEM students will design labs that test for the amount of water used by traditional farming methods vs. the modern farming methods. STEM students will also complete a project where they get to design and build a modern system themselves.
