The Problem
We want to fix the problem of prepackaged school breakfast and lunch foods being thrown into the trash. We want to help solve the problem of community food insecurity by creating a mini food pantry for these items.
Our Plan
We would like to build a mini food pantry to offer extra breakfast and lunch items to families in need. We need materials to build our freestanding unit, which will be placed at the side of our school. We have volunteers to help us build the unit in the shape of a lighthouse (our school), but we need funds for the building materials. As a long term goal, we would also like to build an area to share fresh crops from our school garden.
