The Problem
We are cutting down on the milk cartons going into our landfill. We are hoping other schools adopt the same practice.
Our Plan
We talked to our school's custodian as well as the garbage/recycling company that picks up our stuff. We found out that our cartons needed to be rinsed out and crushed. Our custodian helped by collecting milk cartons from the classrooms that have a morning milk. Our club members rinsed and crushed the cartons over the lunch recess time, and put them into clear garbage bags for recycling.
