The Problem
There is a steady decrease in the number of trees in Manitowoc, Wisconsin due to the spread of the Emerald Ash Bore disease and other damaging diseases. This decrease in trees harms the air quality and destroys the home of many animals.
Our Plan
I, as a member of the Manitowoc Mayor's Youth Action Council, have started a project to promote environmental friendliness and sustainability. I, along with other members of the Mayor's Youth Action Council, will help the environment by planting and caring for trees. Manitowoc is constructing a community-friendly downtown area and the trees will be planted in that area. Also, we are fundraising to purchase more trees. The excess trees will go in local parks.
