The Problem

Food waste is a big part of people\'s waste generation. We want to compost school lunch waste into soil that can be used for growing vegetables.

Our Plan

1. Join a composting group. 2. Work with the lunch workers to determine what waste they generate that can be composted. 3. Work with the custodial staff to establish places to collect the waste and ensure it doesn\'t get dumped into the general dumpster. 4. Set up a team to teach students, at lunch, what materials can be composted and what can\'t. 5. Monitor lunches to make sure that only compostable waste goes into the compost bins.
