The Problem
Our student run club hopes to support pollinators and address food insecurity in Little Rock, Arkansas. Additionally we aim to educate students at LR Central High school about beekeeping and gardening, providing a hands-on experience!

Our club volunteers at a community garden. We also care for a honeybee hives year round! With our grant we purchased equipment so more students can participate and made flower seed paper full of native seeds!
We had a great few meetings and worked much more efficiently with the new equipment we were able to buy through the grant. Our seed paper event was a success and many people who did not usually attend meetings participated.
Through this project we learned more about beekeeping, the power and importance of youth led action, and grew closer as a community.
If we did this project again we might involve the community more.
Our favorite part was growing together as a club and being able to include everyone because of the new equipment.
A tip we would share is have fun and be flexible!
