The Problem
We hope to incorporate more sustainable practices into the landscaping and gardening at Logan High School. We would like to create a small greenhouse to be used as an educational tool for students of every grade. Providing students with the opportunity to create and maintain a functional greenhouse can build time-management, leadership, and collaboration skills, while fostering a connection to nature. Although, if a greenhouse is beyond our school's financial means, we would like to create a native garden on the school grounds. This may include plants such as the Utah Honeysuckle, which provides berries for birds, and the Wild Geranium, which produces beautiful flowers with a long blooming season. A native garden would reduce water and pesticide use, while providing food and cover for wildlife.
