Here is how the project went:
It went great! Students had difficulty collaborating and collectively deciding what to do and how to do it.
Through this project I/we learned:
Students learned to make collaborative decisions, seek expert help when needed, and time management.
What I/we might change:
We might take more time to so it and serve an entire meal to our First Responders.
My/our favorite part of this project was:
Students learned to dream big--and then temper their thoughts into realistic expectations for the time constraints.
Some tips, tricks or fun facts about the project:
Our local Fire Department is within walking distance of our school. Students wanted to be sure they felt appreciated by the community. We were surprised to learn that bringing over treat and thank you posters was unusual.
