The Problem
We want to learn how to use a hydroponics system to grow plants. We also want the students to be more aware of their community as they research non-profit organizations in their community and raise money to support them.

A parent that works at the University of Georgia donated a PVC pipe hydroponics unit to our STEM lab. We have started to set it up in the STEM lab with 2nd graders. We would love to use the money to help us buy the necessary things needed to grow plants. We will use the plants to do science lessons, feed our resident guinea pigs, and even sell at our project based learning culmination project in May, called Little Chief Marketplace. This is a 2nd grade economics PBL in which students create a business and sell things they grow or make in order to raise money for a non-profit organization in our community.
