The Problem
I wish that by converting our front lawn into a drought tolerant, California native landscape that other neighbors will be inspired to do the same!
Our Plan
First we applied for a lawn rebate program being offered by our city. When we were approved we used the following steps: 1. Drafted a landscape plan for the front yard 2. Removed the lawn 3. Put in any structural items like pathways and decomposed granite spaces 4. Covered all the exposed dirt where we plan to plant with cardboard to help manage weeds 5. Covered the cardboard spaces with 3-5 inches of mulch 6. Put in our biggest native plants!
