The Problem

The Dumbarton Middle School PTSA would like to help support a Kindness Club at the school where students and teachers plan activities all year long that focus on spreading kindness and demonstrating respect for others. All activities will promote a climate of kindness and friendship both in the school and throughout the community.

Our Plan

1) Create welcome packages for students who are new to the school. 2) Pack and distribute snack bags for homeless children. 3) Collect and fill boxes with holiday gifts for an inner city elementary school. 4) Host a bowl painting activity for students. These bowls will be donated to the “Empty Bowl” fundraiser for St. Vincent De Paul charity. Empty Bowls is St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore’s signature event that raises funds, friends and awareness of their work to serve those who are hungry and homeless in our community. 5) Make bird feeders to put around outside the school. 6) Put “Love Notes” in library books and random lockers. 7) Make Posters of different Random Acts of Kindness to hang throughout the school. 8) And as many more acts of kindness as we can do. More activities will be determined throughout the school year.
