The Problem

We would like to take advantage of the resources we have here in the Nation's Capitol. In particular, Washington DC is home to some of the most effective and influential public service figures. We plan to create a short series of informal talks targeted to the children of our Roots and Shoots chapter (elementary-age children). These talks will be basis and service as an introduction to the topics that affect our world today. Topics will include health and nutrition, education, poverty, environment, politics, etc.

Our Plan

We have lined up a series of speakers to address the children of our community. Speakers include public service figures from various areas such as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), various Embassy officials, physicians, NASA, and other organizations. The lectures will be targeted to elementary age children. The children are encouraged to ask questions and provide suggestions for how to improve our world. We plan to record the talks and publish the transcript for all to share.
