The Problem

The problem we want to fix in our community is the lack of nutritional knowledge and health in our local youth. We also want to start to try and curve generational poverty and the hunger that accompanies that.

Our Plan

The action we are planning to take is implementing a kids garden were children from unprivileged families will learn how to garden healthy foods. Once they are done gardening, we will teach them how to cook healthy foods with what they have grown in a food preservation class. This will help them make healthy choices well into their adulthood, and hopefully will help them teach their future kids how to make the same choices. Lastly, this is hoped to help generation poverty and the hunger that accompanies it by showing these children how to grow food so they can always have something healthy to eat when times are tough or money us short.
