The Problem
We are working with faculty member at a local university to learn about civic engagement. She is teaching kids and adults how to find solutions to policy issues by working with non-profit organizations.Our group has chosen to help the Light House Shelter located in our community. The Light House Shelter provides many services for the homeless in the area. Specifically, they provide temporary housing, food and job training for homeless families. We hope to directly provide food and services to the families living at the shelter and also bring awareness to the community about the needs of the homeless living in our area.
