The Problem
Our wish was to raise awareness of the ivory trade, including the slaughtering of elephants for their tusks and the poaching, and thus discourage people from purchasing ivory products.
Our Plan
We marched around Tsim Sha Tsui in matching shirts that read "Stop the Ivory Trade" in various languages. We also handed out small information pamphlets to people on the street who were interested. Finally, we visited an ivory shop, in which the owner explained the difference between elephant and mammoth tusks, and taught us how to differentiate between the two.
