The Problem

My wish for this project is to allow students to follow their passion about an issue of sustainability/human rights and create outreach to their communities to help positively change the situation.

Our Plan

9th grade students (the leaders of our junior high school) will do a research project on a sustainability/human rights issue of their choice, researching the background of the topic and possible solutions to the problem. Then, they will create an outreach project that informs the public about the urgency of their issue and what their community members can do to help with solutions in a fair type atmosphere. For instance, a student might research non-native and invasive species and then give a presentation of native plants and where to buy them locally for landscaping yards.
