The Problem

Many of the children and young adults living in Hope's Door's residential homes don't have frequent access to books, especially not during school holidays like summertime. I would like to purchase new / gently-used books, as well as some inexpensive shelves for the organization along with a book drive I'm hosting, so as to collect books that the residents really want and can enjoy as a healthy form of entertainment.

Our Plan

I plan to host a book drive at my high school (Heritage High School, Frisco ISD) from April 11-15, 2016. Upon receiving the grant, I will speak with the owner of our local Half Price Books to arrange receiving a discount when purchasing books requested by the residents with the grant money, as well as speak with several thrift shops and furniture stores to arrange for a deal on shelving. Upon sorting and boxing everything, I hope to deliver and install the book collections by the end of May (possibly in June).
