The Problem

Some common household items, such as batteries and expired medicine are harmful to the environment when disposed of incorrectly. It is estimated that each year, over 3 billion batteries are thrown away in the United States. The same can be said with expired pills, both OTC and prescription. Both items can actually be recycled. There are collection sites for each item nearby.

Our Plan

We will go to surrounding neighborhoods and ask for their unusable batteries and expired medical pills. Once we have a stockpile, we will transport them to a collection spot. That way, the residents do not need to worry about it and we make sure they are disposed of correctly. This will occur every 2-3 months.
