The Problem

The project is primarily addressing social isolation and emotional distress among hospice and memory care patients, especially seniors who may rarely receive visitors or personal interaction. We plan to organize regular craft flower events for young people and community members to create flowers for senior patients. By providing handmade flowers, cards, and visits, the project offers emotional comfort, recognition, and human connection, helping patients feel remembered, valued, and less isolated.

Our Plan

We have already successfully organized several events to gather volunteers and create more than 100 poppies, which will be delivered to patients in different assisted living communities in Massachusetts for Memorial Day weekend 2026. In the future, in addition to hosting similar events to create themed flowers for different occasions, we plan to include multilingual notes and a variety of flower colors and designs, helping patients feel more personally seen, valued, and appreciated.
