Our problem is students making poor choices due to feeling alone and trapped in cycles of family difficulties, poverty, substance abuse, and hopelessness. They oftentimes become students who get involved with risky behavior and even criminal activity out of a need for community or a survival-mode mentality.
Our project/program will provide optimistic outlooks to students in our area by providing art/tech learning, and personal development. By providing opportunities for underserved students to engage with the arts and digital art learning, we'll provide positive outlooks and pathways to positive outcomes in their lives. The Goodcity Creative Youth program will provide art lessons, technological learning for digital art, personal & leadership development, and service opportunities through design service to local nonprofits. By allowing these students to engage with art, personal & career development opportunities, we are providing for those positive life paths and future outcomes.
