The objective for this project is to teach my students about empathy, as well as how to care for animals in the community. After completing a unit provided by the Edmonton Humane Society, students will understand the importance of taking care of their pets, as well as helping animals in need in the community.
Students will create toys to send to the animals at the Edmonton Humane Society. They will create braided chew toys for dogs (using old clothing), and socks filled with cat nip for cats. Finally, students will create a booklet that demonstrates what they have learned in the unit. These items will then be delivered to the Edmonton Humane Society.
