The Problem
The funding from this grant will enable FXB Climate Advocates to provide weekly digital newsletter with climate solutions and concrete actions youth can take to get involved in the climate crisis. Young people are not motivated by doom and gloom. Rather, they want to see examples of climate solutions and learn concrete tools to encourage behavior changes for more sustainable lifestyles. The weekly newsletter will feature regular people taking seemingly small actions to mitigate climate change. The goal is for youth to see that they are powerful and can enact change. The youth will be asked to join the FXB Climate Advocates Roots and Shoots group and post weekly about climate actions they take in their schools and communities. This will help them get inspired by their peers\' actions and solutions. As part of the group, they will share reflections and experiences with one another so that they feel less alone and gain strength from a like-minded yet diverse community. We will measure progress through on-going check-ins, ensuring that youth receive the support they need as well as by the number of group members by December 2023.
