Fundraiser for Roots and Shoots, Children’s National Hospital and Smithsonian National Zoo

  • Location
    Hyattsville, Maryland
  • Status
    Active

The Problem

Our group voted on three groups they wanted to support financially. Roots and Shoots helps inspire a positive change in the world, especially for animals and our environment. Children's National Hospital in Washington D.C. helps kids in our area with medical needs and has made a substantial impact in serving a sibling of one of our members. The National Zoo helps educate people about animals, especially helping animals who are in danger of becoming extinct.

Our Plan

Members each made baked items to sell at a busy block on the parade route of Hyattsville's annual parade. Members also made signs, set up two stands (one on each side of the road), and sold lemonade, cookies, breads, brownies, and fruit. We earned $120 and split this evenly in donations to the three selected groups.
