The Problem

Creating a self-sustaining system between paper recycling and garden soil enrichment through vermicomposting. How to integrate recycling and composting with our garden and create compost to make our plants grow better?

Our Plan

1.Teacher group will present Project Proposal before School Principal. 2. Students will be assigned different roles each day as we visit the garden to obtain a bigger picture of all the variables that go into making a healthy garden. Some roles include weed control, shredding vegetable and fruit peels, breaking eggshells to increase the surface area for composting, planting new plants, adding compost to the planters and watering the plants. 3. In addition, students will be assigned specific classrooms to collect the paper shreddings from. 4. Paper shreddings will be added to the vermicomposting bins. 5.Compost created in the bins will be used to supplement the soil in the planters.
