The Problem

We created this project to address the gap in accessible environmental health education, especially for those living in areas affected by environmental disasters and pollution, such as Cook County. During our planning stage, we surveyed community members and interviewed local organizations on environmental disparities. We observed that many people are passionate about taking action but lack the knowledge or resources to effectively do so.

Our Plan

Our project is developing a free 10-week virtual environmental health course covering water contamination, air quality, carcinogens, climate change, and public health. Through interactive lessons, activities, infographics, and quizzes, the course will make scientific information accessible and empower residents to engage in civic decision-making.
