The Problem

The area in which our library is located is becoming increasingly developed and urbanized. We want to support our local flora and fauna from habitat loss. We will build a space where they can flourish, safe from pesticides and creeping urbanization.

Our Plan

We have chosen to build a pollinator garden to support the biodiversity of our direct area. We plan to do this by buying plant bags and filling them with native plants that will support a variety of pollinators. We would work to build programming around our pollinator garden to teach our community members about the importance of native species and green spaces within a community. We have a program in which community members will be able to build watering spots for pollinators, a program to learn the importance of composting and soil stewardship, and a program to give attendees native flower seeds.
