To increase awareness of the importance of the Florida Native Milkweed in supporting the migrating Monarch population.
Our Plan
The parents will be asked to watch the documentary "Journey of the Butterflies" prior to class. Then I will read a book to the children about the Monarch Butterfly and its migration, "Magnificent Monarchs" by Linda Glaser. We will study a map of the migration the Monarch makes from Canada to Mexico. Then we will plant the seeds as a class making observations about their growth. Finally will sell the plants to raise money for the local children's home.
