The Problem

Monarch butterflies specifically, other butterflies and bees are all facing declining numbers due to the loss of their natural habitats.

Our Plan

We are planting a butterfly garden adjacent to the Firefly Trail in Union Point GA on the grounds of the Greene County Primary School. Donations were received from members of the community to buy larval host plants specific for 7 different butterflies and various nectar plants. The garden will be used by the school for educational purposes and enjoyed by members of the community and visitors to the trail. We will be purchasing and erecting educational signage regarding the life cycle of the butterflies.
