The Problem

We’ve reached a critical point. Local ecosystems are losing large and growing numbers of species. This reduces their ability to provide the ecosystem services we rely on. Not only do we all depend on these crucial services like clean air and water, flood control, pollination for our food, pest control, and carbon storage, but these ecosystems are degrading due to our actions and therefore it is our responsibility to help them thrive again.

Our Plan

Homegrown National Park catalyzes people to plant native and remove invasive plant species at home and in their communities — one of the most impactful actions anyone can take to restore and protect the natural habitats that support all life. In this project, Roots&Shoots is teaming up with Homegrown National Park to bring native plants to university campuses in the United States.
