The Problem

As summers become hotter, extreme heat is becoming a growing concern for youth in our community. Many students aren't fully aware of how extreme heat can affect their health and daily lives, or what they can do to stay safe, especially in areas where air conditioning isn't common. We want to raise awareness about these impacts and make information about heat safety more accessible to young people.

Our Plan

We conducted a survey to better understand how extreme heat affects youth in our community and how they currently deal with high temperatures. We plan to combine our survey findings with tips for staying cool into a zine. We hope to help more young people understand the risks of extreme heat and find simple ways to stay safe during the summer.
