The Problem
Our Exploratory Teaching Garden will address the growing need for introductory environmental literacy and global environmental awareness for children aged 3 to 6.
Our Plan
We will have the children plant native perennial flowering species in our classroom's dedicated outdoor space to expand our current composting and pollinator lessons. We will expand our current 4'x4' sandbox garden into a larger wrap-around garden. Our expanded garden will allow for immersive, exploratory hands-on environmental lessons. These early lessons will set the groundwork of environmental appreciation to guide future climate-conscious citizens.
