The Problem

Southern California imports over 80 percent of its water, and this takes a tremendous amount of energy. Most people are aware that saving water is important as we enter our fourth year of a severe drought, but we would like to make our school community aware that saving water and other resources is always a good idea. It will not only save the school money but be a part of our effort to reduce our energy consumption.

Our Plan

Our student are in the process of designing awareness stickers that we plan to put near water faucets and paper towel dispensers. The stickers will encourage people to turn off the water while washing their hands and to take only one paper towel to dry their hands. Our student team members want to create public service announcements that will air on the school's daily school news program. Our team wants to install aerators on all the faucets on campus and has begun to map where faucets are located.
