The Problem

Community Problem/Need Addressed: Our service project aims to address the lack of accessible green spaces for wildlife observation and environmental education within our community. By creating a bird sanctuary around our school, we seek to benefit people, animals, and the environment simultaneously. People will have a serene recreational space for birdwatching and relaxation, fostering a deeper connection with nature. The sanctuary will provide a safe habitat for local bird species, contributing to their conservation efforts. Additionally, by engaging students in hands-on environmental education, we aim to cultivate a sense of stewardship and responsibility towards our natural surroundings.

Our Plan

Actions Taken to Implement the Project: Our group will begin by conducting research on native bird species and their habitat requirements. We will then collaborate with local environmental organizations and wildlife experts to design a suitable sanctuary plan. Implementation will involve landscaping with native plants, installing bird feeders and baths, and erecting educational signage throughout the sanctuary.
