A project to plant and protect native endangered plant species

The Problem

In Los Angeles county many native plants are at risk due to the popularity of invasive plants, lawns and new development. We want to help restore native plant populations.

Our Plan

We took our lawn out years ago. Now, any new plants we put in the yard we make sure are native. In one case, we planted an endangered plant called a Nevin's Barberry. As a family, we take care of the Nevins Barberry, measure its growth and keep it healthy. We also talk to our neighbors about the plants and offer to help them plant more natives in their yards too!
