The Problem

The issue is homeless animals wandering our communities, and the lack of adoptions from the homeless animal shelters causing overpopulation within the shelters. In addition, the importance of having pets spayed / neutered needs to be more recognized for both stray and home pets. Many people don't know what spaying and neutering can do to help resolve this problem. Spaying and Neutering both stray and home pets makes it so they can't have any more offspring and add to the homeless animal problem. It's always heartbreaking to see these pets hurt/injured because they are in the wild without homes. This issue can be caused by animals reproducing in the wild, which leads to even more homeless cats/kittens and dogs/puppies.

Our Plan

The plan is to raise awareness through community education, flyers distributed, and participate at adoption events and the need for spaying/neutering animals, as well as the opportunity to adopt homeless cats/kittens and dogs/puppies. We will volunteer at shelter adoption events. We will make play toys and warm blankets for the shelter cats/kittens and dogs/puppies. We will setup small Pet Food drives to donate to the community animal shelters. We will create educational literature, flyers and social media posts encouraging adoption and highlighting the importance of spaying and neutering. We will create a sustainable site to inform and encourage adoption and share resources for others to consider shelter adoptions.
