The Problem

Our wish for this project is to unite our stakeholders (staff, students, parents, and community members) while helping make our school more beautiful, and learning about the care and growth of plants and trees.

Our Plan

Our project will unite the Escobar/Rios Elementary staff, students, parents, community members, and volunteers by having a common goal that will benefit the school in a plethora of ways. The students will gain knowledge about the different types of plants and trees and what they need to survive through their science classes. They will also learn about the benefits of having all these different forms of nature around the school (such as that trees help clean the air). They will be able to actively participate by planting flowers or small trees during their science classes. We will recruit staff members to assist with the process as well as supervision. We will also involve our parents and community members by planning for a date and time for them to also participate with the project by planting flowers and trees while strengthening their bond with the children of Escobar/Rios. With Earth Day and Arbor Day coming up in April, this will provide the perfect educational foundation to this project. Being actively involved in this project will provide for lifelong learning and memories that will never be forgotten! They will also be able to contribute an important and beautiful piece to the school that will be enjoyed and remembered for many years to come.
