We want to raise awareness of the plight of the elephant. These majestic creatures are decreasing in number every day due to poaching, abuse and habitat loss. We want to educate our community and a broader audience of the threats to this species and to raise funds for more protected space for elephants in the wild and elephant sanctuaries.
Our 7th-grade class is researching elephants and deciding on how we will accomplish our goals. We will be assembling elephant information kits, making awareness posters, having bake sales, setting up donation jars and designing t-shirts and selling them. These proceeds will go to an elephant sanctuary and wildlife sanctuary to help purchase more land that will be protected for the elephants to live in a safer environment.
