The Problem
My wish for this project is to educate local residents of Washtenaw County about the effects of a large White-tailed Deer population so that they will not resort to lethal methods for reducing their numbers.
Our Plan
Advocating management is a group called, "Washtenaw Citizens for Ecological Balance", I want to present an alternative, more encompassing, perspective on the effect of deer on the environment than they provide. My project will inform residents of Washtenaw County so that they understand the complicity of the issue of overpopulation. I will do this by creating a website that outlines a variety of perspectives and scholarly work that demonstrates all sides of the issue. I will also write for local news sources and get involved with community meetings on behalf of the deer which are unable to defend themselves.
