The Problem
The aim of our project was to stay silent for those who could not speak up and raise awareness for human trafficking. We hoped to increase understanding of the situation and its magnitude within our school.
Our Plan
That day, all participating students were to wear black and hang a cardboard sign around their necks. On the sign were facts about human trafficking. Students stayed silent the entire day except for when a teacher called on them, mimicking a situation where those trafficked could not speak up against their abusers.
