Culinary Arts with tilapia for homeless shelters

The Problem

To provide additional meals to Open Door Mission which is one of our homeless shelters in Omaha. We have harvested three gallon bags full of our tilapia that has been fillet. We will work with Metropolitan Community College Culinary Arts Program on the best way to prepare this for their program.

Our Plan

Our goal last year at Accelere was to make a laboratory to grow out tilapia for our shelters. Mllard Extension students discovered how to breed the fish to keep this project as a sustainable food source for communities. Our goal is to be a resource for communities on how to make these sustainable farming.
