Creating a Drought Resistant Native Gardens

  • Location
    Reseda, California
  • Status
    Active

The Problem

We are beginning to replace green areas with appealing drought resistant native plants in a highly visible and traffic flow area that will attract student curiosity on the reasons for replanting. The location is the social area for two magnet schools: Reseda's Police Academy Magnet and Law and Public Service.

Our Plan

The project will begin today. We are researching what other schools have done as well as what are native, drought resistant plants. We will consult with the plant manager in the next two days on the project idea, existing irrigation, implementation of the replanting, and hopefully will be able to plant the first week of March so we will be ready for March 10th's open house!
