The Problem

Cancer Services is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving area cancer patients and their families at no cost. They offer a whole team of caring professionals prepared to help those coping with cancer through every phase of their ordeal, providing individuals and their families with much needed resources and emotional support through these difficult times. Every year, the northeastern Indiana branch aids nearly 4,000 community members diagnosed with cancer. Their mission is to "enhance the quality of life of those affected by cancer by providing meaningful resources, information and compassionate assistance…through a variety of programs and services", including financial assistance, counseling, medical equipment, home health supplies, transportation, therapeutic massage and more. Cancer Services is always grateful for donations or for volunteers willing to contribute their time to make a difference in the lives of families battling cancer throughout the community. There are always many opportunities available for volunteers to lend a hand, from planning and helping out at special events, to arranging craft projects, to providing goods or services.

Our Plan

We raised funds for our local Cancer Relief Services Branch and participated in their annual Ribbon Walk. The Ribbon Walk gives members of the community a meaningful way to help support other individuals and families struggling with cancer and to honor loved ones whose lives have been touched by cancer.
