The Problem

Elderly people in nursing homes who are lonely and do not communicate with people outside the facility. Animals who have been rescued and supporting the facility to care for them.

Our Plan

The students are planning to put together bags of supplies and take them to a local nursing home. They will find people in the nursing home to interact with whether through games, conversation, or group activities. They will write notes, send Christmas cards, and possibly do a gift exchange with the residents. The students will purchase the items for the bags, fill the bags, and deliver them. They will take time to write notes to the residents as well as Christmas cards during the holidays. At the animal rescue facility, the students want to purchase dog food, treats, and cleaning supplies to donate to one of the facilities. They want to have a blanket drive in which students in the school donate blankets that can be given to the rescue facility to keep the animals warm and comfortable. Which means putting together flyers, manning a table for blanket collection, and washing and drying the blankets received.
