The Problem

We live in an area where the majority of people live below the poverty line and every week, it seems a new factory has closed down. Drugs, particularly meth, run rampant. Our local elementary school is constantly battling against absentee parents, parents who aren't willing to step up for their children, and struggle to provide a safe place for students, even with a low budget. Within our community is a small park. But because our community lack money, we lack the funding to make our park what it needs to be. Last year, we started working on making this green space welcoming and inviting to all. Then Hurricane Helene hit and so much of our hard work was destroyed. We want to bring some hope back to our community.

Our Plan

Our youth club wants to step up and make the space into something that is both beautiful and functional. A space that has flowers, that welcomes pollinators, that provides free produce to the community, that shows the impact that can be made when our youth come together and puts their minds to something.
